Below you will find some hints to help you before you buy/sell/trade on line.
GENERAL GUIDELINES:
1. Before you buy ON LINE, make sure you know your beanie! If you are
anything like me. When i first started collecting, all i saw was a cute beanie
(which they are) but unfortunately there are people out there who don't care
and are selling counterfeit beanies.
2. Not only know your beanie, but know your seller too! Always check
referances, another little tip "hotmail.com, juno.com" can be set up by user
these are free email addresses(not saying they would be fake, use your
own judgment on them)
3. Communication, COMMUNICATION!!! This one of the most important
things when buying, selling or trading over the internet!
4. READ the seller/traders ordering&information pages!! If you have questions
about the beanies or prices ask the seller. If the seller doesn't want to answer or
is rude, then maybe you should purchase from another! Remember to always
be polite :)
5. If you do not intent to buy it, then dont place and order. That is just plain
RUDE and you can find yourself on the "bad trader list" for that!!
6. Not all traders/sellers have references, they might be new to this. If they
dont have references you could always ask to pay COD, that way your
sure to get your beanie's without losing money. Be advised COD does
cost extra!!
7. If you run into the unfortunate and you never received your beanies and the
seller doesn't respond to you(give it at least a week) you can take action! Contact
your local post office or file a complaint with the police department. PLEASE
NOTE: make sure you get the sellers full name..address..state..zip code..phone
number. Not all sellers list it on their page. Use your own discretion when
dealing with P.O. boxes.
BUYING:
1. Once you have confirmed with the seller that you are interested in the item
and the money is "on the way" DON'T back out of the deal! It is ok to ask
about an item then change your mind, but make sure you let the seller know
you are no longer interested.
2. Make sure you know the condition of the item, if you are not sure then ask.
3. Let the seller know when you sent payment. Request that they let you know
when your payment arrives and item is shipped
4. Dont be surprised if the seller holds a personal check for 7-10 days.
5. When you send a money order or certified mail save your reciepts!! If
something does go wrong, it may be the only way to prove there was
a transaction.
6. Inspect your beanie immediately when the beanie comes. Some sellers
offer limited refunds, others do not. If there is a problem or damage, inform the
seller immediately!
7. If you are pleased with your beanie, let them know. We are here to make
your beanie hunting happy. Also it would also be appreciated to put them on
the "good traders list" This way you letting them know you were happy and
other buyers will know that they can buy from this seller with confidence :)
SELLING:
1. Be upfront about the condition of the item in which you are selling. Failing to
do so can lead to problems and a bad reputation.
2. Once you commit to selling an item at a price, dont back out of the deal, even
if you do have a higher offer. The only exception is if the buyer has not
confirmed or sent money for the item. If you will only hold the item a certain
amount of days, make sure the buyer is clear of this.
3. Clearly state the amount charged for shipping and handling and how you will
be shipping the item.
4. Let the buyer know when their payment has arrived and item was shipped.
5. Save all your shipping reciepts, incase of damage.
TRADING:
1. Dont be afraid to check references or get a phone number and call the party.
2. Both parties should agree upfront on the exact condition of the item, shipping
method and shipping date.
3. Once both parties are in agreement, ship the item on the agreed upon date.
Send an email letting them know it was shipped.
4. DON'T agree to send the items on the same day, then wait untill the other
item has arrived before sending yours. This is a great way to be put on
the "bad traders list" The only exception to this is if you both agree that you
may wait untill you recieve the parties trade.
5. Once the item arrives, email the party and let them know.
