As you meander through the cobbled streets of Ivy, the first things to catch your eye will be the delightful buildings. These whimsical shops and houses hearken back to a previous era, when such things were built by hand using materials that came from the land. Rock foundations seemed to grow right out of the earth. Mud from the creek was the source of the softly colored bricks that gave the houses their warm glow. Trees cleared for farms were used for timbers. Nothing was wasted. When you get to meet the people of Ivy, you'll find them to be sweet, old-fashioned folks, the kind you'd like to have as neighbors. You can sense a genuine feeling of community as you get to know their stories, and you'll want to find out more about them.
About four miles down the road from Ivy is the seaside village of Ivy Cove™. It is a wonderful little town with a big heart. You'll notice that the buildings are tight and ship-shape, though weather worn. They have dug into the sandy strand and clung to the old wharf in order to withstand the tides, the wind and the penetrating salt air. They have stood the test of time. So, too, the residents have learned that hard work and a fondness for the sea are the keys to living the life they love in Ivy Cove™. They are slightly rugged, robust folks who are just as comfortable during a raging Nor'easter as they are in the tranquil dawn of an Ivy Cove sunrise. There's always plenty going on in Ivy Cove™. Fishermen and ships enter and leave The Cove, and as the day progresses the wharf comes to life.
