March is:
St. Patrick’s Day, March 17th:
- The Activity Idea Place has lots of art ideas, math and science games, songs and food and snacks to help celebrate St. Patrick’s Day.
- The Perpetual Preschool has St. Patrick Day games, art activities, songs and snack recipes.
- Making Friends.com Inc. has crafts, jewelry-making, decorations and coloring pages.
- First-School.ws has St. Patrick's Day and Irish American Heritage Month activities for preschool and kindergarten. There are crafts, lesson plans and related resources.
- Preschool Education has over 35 arts and crafts projects for St. Patrick’s Day.
Music in Our Schools Month:
- The Perpetual Preschool has a Music and Movement Area with songs, fingerplays and creative movement activities. There are even instructions to make some musical instruments.
- ABC Home Preschool has an alphabetized list of preschool music and activities.
- Pratt’s Educational Resources has an Activities Using Music and Rhymes for Early Childhood Education section with songs and related lesson plans.
- Boowa and Kwala has 56 animated songs to enjoy. There is also a link on the main song page to download the lyrics for each song.
National Nutrition Month:
- On the National Dairy Council’s Nutrition Explorations website is Chef Combo’s Fantastic Adventures with fun, hands-on nutrition activities that teach simple nutrition concepts and provide a variety of cooking and tasting experiences. Check out the Lessons at a Glance to find lessons grouped into nutrition, food preparation and tasting activities.
- Inter Tribal Council of Arizona, Inc. WIC Program has a Nutrition and Physical Activity Fun for WIC Families Resource Manual with ideas and activities for families, caregivers, and children.
- Illinois Nutrition Education and Training Program has interdisciplinary nutrition lesson plans as well as nutrition information and resources.
- Preschool Rock has food and nutrition activities, themes and recipes for preschoolers.
