How-To Guide: Excel Keyboard Shortcuts

In Excel there are many keyboard shortcuts to make entering or formatting data easier. Here are just a few:

Arrow keys

Changes the active cell and moves one cell up, down, left, or right

Home

Moves to the beginning of the line or row

Ctrl + Home

Moves to the beginning of the worksheet

Ctrl + End

Moves to the last used cell at the end of the worksheet

Tab

Moves to the next cell to the right.

Shift + Tab

Moves to the previous cell to the left

Ctrl + A

Selects the entire worksheet

Ctrl + C

Copies the cell

Ctrl + V

Pastes a copied cell into the chosen cell

Ctrl + X

Cuts the cell

Ctrl + P

Prints the cell

Ctrl + S

Saves the cell

F2

Edits the cell

Ctrl + Z

Undo the last action

Page Up

Moves up one screen

Page Down

Moves down one screen

Alt + Page Up

Moves one screen to the left

Alt + Page Down

Moves one screen to the right

Shift + 11

Inserts a new worksheet

Ctrl + Page Down

Moves to the next worksheet in the workbook

Ctrl + Page Up

Moves to the previous worksheet in the workbook

Renames the current worksheet

Opens a new workbook
