How-To Guide: Changing the Size of Desktop Icons

Q.   The Desktop fills the screen, but the icons and words are too small or too large.   How do I change them to be normal size?

 

A.

• Right click anywhere on the desktop background.  
• Click on Properties in the pop up menu that appears.

 

• A Display Properties dialog box will appear. Click on the Settings tab.

• Move the Screen resolution slider to the left (towards Less) to increase the size of the icons or to the right (towards More) to decrease the size of the icons. 
• (NOTE) The larger the pixel numbers, the smaller the icons will be. The standard Screen resolution setting is usually 800 x 600 or 1024 x 768.
• Click Apply.
• Click OK.
